The Bosch Rexroth KSM01.2B-076C-35N-S1-HP2-SE-NN-D7-NN-FW is a distributed servo drive. A 24 Volts DC holding brake is included with the servo drive. In contrast to control brakes which are designed to delay movement and power brakes which generate a counter torque, a holding brake is designed to stop motor shafts from startup from standstill. The holding brake on the KSM01.2B-076C-35N-S1-HP2-SE-NN-D7-NN-FW is electrically released which means that the brake will stop and hold a load when the power is removed. Power loss can occur due to machine malfunction or it can be intentional.
