Product Description:

The CP2215-0010 is a stable multi-touch panel PC invented and commercialized under Beckhoff’s CP panel PC series. It features a sturdy frame that protects the internal circuitry and motherboard from the intrusion of foreign particles, elements, and materials. Throughout its cycle life, the CP2215-0010 is maintenance-free and service-free. The CP2215-0010’s TFT color display comes with a set of functional keys that can be used for executing quick commands and user-defined functions. The CP2215-0010 offers several communication interfaces for establishing connections with other automation devices via DVI, RS232, Ethernet, and USB. The CP2215-0010 can be bought along with the C9900-G003, its compatible push button extension.

Unlike other control panels by Beckhoff, CP22XX control panels have a bulkier back component because of the integrated motherboard and communication interfaces. Specifically, the CP2215-0010 has a 3-and-a-half-inch motherboard, equipped with an Intel processor and CFast memory card. At most, the CP2215-0010 can support two simultaneous SSD or hard disk drives for storing HMI applications and data. The CP2215-0010 also houses a set of cooling fans on its rear side for maintaining favorable panel temperature during operation. The interfaces for the CP2215-0010 are found on the underside of the panel, facing downwards, to prevent dust from accumulating on the ports.

The CP2215-0010 has nine total connection interfaces for establishing connections, communication, and network functions. The first socket, X110, is for the unit’s power supply, while X109 and X108 are for RJ45 connectors. Four USB devices can be connected to the control panel via the X104-X107 sockets. For RS232 communication, the appropriate socket is X102. Finally, the remaining socket (X103) is for transmitting video and digital signals via a digital visual interface (DVI).

Symptom / front-LED hint Likely root cause First things to try
Power LED dark at switch-on 24 V DC absent or < 22 V at X110 connector Measure supply, check cabinet fuse & field wiring; Beckhoff recommends ≥ 22 V to ride-through dips
Green LED on, screen blank Display dimmed/cleaning-mode active Tap an external monitor (DVI) or exit “Screensaver/Cleaning mode” with the Beckhoff Display Control Tool
Touch registers false clicks or none Dirty glass or protective film trapping moisture Enable Cleaning Mode (see above), clean bezel edge, replace damaged film or use soft gloves
Undervoltage LED after motor start-ups PSU can’t hold 24 V during inrush Up-size the 24 V supply or add a buffer/UPS module, retorque screw-clamp plug
Panel runs hot / shuts down Fans/vents clogged, cabinet > 45 °C Vacuum fins, restore airflow, verify cabinet A/C; long-term keep core temp < 85 °C
Boots to BIOS, no OS CFast/SSD not detected or corrupt Reseat drive, load spare SSD image, check SATA ribbon & 24 V aux fuse
TwinCAT starts in CONFIG not RUN Battery-backed RTC lost date Replace CR2032 on mainboard, then re-enter BIOS clock & licence key
EtherCAT link LEDs off Cable/port damage Swap RJ-45, inspect 2 × GigE ports; each CP22xx has two NICs for redundancy
USB devices intermittently drop Over-current or ESD on 5 V rail Move USB wiring away from motor cables, add ferrites or powered hub
Random reboots 24 V brown-outs or fanless CPU over-temp throttle Log DC-bus with scope; update BIOS & Intel ME, add external battery pack
Model Display & native res. Typical CPU option Cooling / mount Front-side IP rating Why you’d pick it
