Product Description:
The CP2218-0020 is a panel-mount PC manufactured by Beckhoff for the CP Panel PC Systems series. It serves as a combined operator interface and control computer, enabling direct execution of PLC, motion, or visualization tasks on the factory floor without a separate cabinet-mounted industrial PC. The system integrates a widescreen display, multi-touch input, and standard field connections so that machinery, conveyors, or process skids can be supervised and adjusted at the point of installation.
The front face carries an 18.5-inch TFT that renders graphics at 1366 × 768 pixels, giving operators clear status pages and trend charts. A multi-finger capacitive touch sensor accepts pinch and swipe gestures, eliminating the need for membrane keys. The aluminum bezel is sealed to IP65, allowing front washdown, while the rear meets IP20 requirements for enclosure air exchange. Two onboard Ethernet sockets use Intel i219 and i210 controllers and can each transfer data at up to 1000 Mbit/s, supporting real-time fieldbus or camera data. The input stage accepts 24 VDC, permitting connection to the same SELV supply that feeds sensors and valve terminals. A single DVI port mirrors or extends the desktop to a remote monitor, and one RS-232 port interfaces with legacy drives or scanners.
Four USB 3.0 receptacles provide hot-swap expansion, allowing a keyboard, USB flash drive, and two additional peripherals to be connected simultaneously. A firmware-based trusted platform module, fTPM 2.0, stores encryption keys used to secure the operating system. Internal shock tolerance is rated at 5 G for 30 ms, protecting the 2.5-inch SATA bay and CFast slot that form the dual-storage arrangement. The housing weighs 7.5 kg, making it suitable for VESA arm mounting while providing enough mass to reduce vibration during continuous operation.
