Product Description:

The R46GENA-TS-NG-NV-00 is a servomotor from the R series manufactured by Pacific Scientific. This motor offers a high torque to inertia ratio for motors in its class. It was designed by the manufacturer to meet the needs of applications that require a high dynamic response and the ability to be mounted with either metric mounting systems or NEMA mounting systems.

The R46GENA-TS-NG-NV-00 servomotor by Pacific Scientific features a standard sequence number. It utilizes the English mounting type and shaft and features rare earth magnets. The primary feedback mechanism is a Tachsyn and output feedback is a 1024 PPR line driver encoder. This part is designed to provide end-users with improved dynamic response and rapid acceleration thanks to its ability to provide high torque to inertia ratio. With a brushless construction, this motor has the benefit of being a rugged one. Without a brush, the end-users also benefit from having less maintenance which can help to reduce costs and cut down on downtime while the motor can stand up to the factory floor’s many rigors.

The R46GENA-TS-NG-NV-00 offers improved machine throughput thanks to its high torque over wide speed range and offers low-speed operation that is smooth thanks to its anti-cog motor design. It is built with IP65 TENV specifications which allows it the ability to work well in the most rigorous of environments. Additionally, Class H insulation allows for reduced downtime and longer usable life of the motor. To protect against damage to the motor from high temperatures, it is equipped with a thermistor. This motor as well as the brand Pacific Scientific are globally approved and are recognized by a variety of agencies for their safety, productivity, reliability, durability, and longevity. The R46GENA-TS-NG-NV-00 is built to provide all that plus improved machine safety.

Drive LED blink-code or symptom Probable cause on an R46-frame axis Quick corrective action
2 blinks – Motor Over-Temp Winding thermistor ≥ 155 °C: high ambient (> 40 °C), blocked airflow or duty-cycle above the 7.2 Nm continuous rating  Stop the axis, let the motor cool; clear vents, verify blower, then lower continuous load or cycle time.
3 blinks – Drive over/under-temperature Cabinet ≥ 45 °C or drive fan/filter clogged – heatsink > 100 °C  Restore 0 – 45 °C ambient, clean/replace fans & filters, reset the drive.
4 blinks – Drive I·t trip RMS torque request above the drive’s thermal map during long accel/decel Lengthen ramps, check inertia match; if load is correct, move to higher-current SC750 or AKD.
5 blinks – Motor I²t trip Average shaft load > continuous rating or fan path restricted Compare motion profile with 7.2 Nm spec; if unchanged, select the higher-torque H or C winding.
7 blinks – Bus over-voltage on fast stops Brake resistor open/undersized or decel ramp too steep  Ohm-check resistor; enlarge it or soften decel-time parameter in the S200.
8 blinks – Bus under-voltage during accel Brown-out or undersized mains / DC supply Measure DC-bus sag, stiffen supply, add line reactor or bigger transformer.
9 blinks – Motor phase short immediately on enable Coolant/oil in MS connector; crushed cable; phase-to-phase short Insulation-test windings & cable (> 500 MΩ), dry or replace parts, reseat connector.
10 blinks – Peak over-current when axis hits a hard stop Impact load > 64 A peak, shaft jam, or torque limit too high Remove mechanical jam, add compliant stop, lower peak-torque limit.
11 blinks – Hall / resolver fault Resolver plug loose, shielding open, mis-phasing Reseat 10-pin feedback plug, redo resolver alignment routine.
19 blinks – Position error too large Loose coupling/belt, gains too low for the 20 kg cm² rotor inertia Tighten mechanics, raise P-gain 10 %, run auto-tune, re-test following error.
