The N31HRHJ-LKN-NS-01 is a two-phase hybrid stepper motor from the NEMA 34 category. The motor’s design has been improved to increase torque output and enhance heat dissipation. Additional neodymium iron-boron permanent magnets have been installed in the motor’s stator slot. This results in an increase in the magnetic flux and energy density that in turn, increases the torque output. The stator has been designed such that it facilitates heat dissipation towards the outer walls of the motor’s casing. With an improved cooling design, the motor’s overload capacity is drastically increased. This model has a 4.5 Nm holding torque and 0.13 Nm detent torque. The motor’s detent torque has been kept low to enhance the motor’s micro stepping performance. The N31HRHJ-LKN-NS-01’s have a 0.84 ohm resistance (per winding).

The N31HRHJ-LKN-NS-01 originally comes with IP 44 degree protection. IP 44 standard motors are protected against damage caused by small wires and tools. A terminal box can be used to upgrade the motor from IP 44 standard to IP 65 protection standard. IP 65 standard motors are protected against damage by aggressive agents, water jets, and coolants. This model has a 2.3 kg weight and can be installed in small sized control cabinet because of its compact dimensions. Another advantage is that the motor comes with a light-weight rotor. This enables the motor to accelerate at a much higher rate and allows it to perform high speed start-stop applications. Because of its powerful permanent magnets, the N31HRHJ-LKN-NS-01 is able to maintain a high torque output when motor speed is at moderate levels.
