Product Description

The P21NSXA-LSS-NS-02 is an all in one molded stator step motor. This product from Pacific Scientific is made with all the top quality features you can expect from the manufacturer. Being a step motor operates by moving in discrete steps. Each phase is energized in sequence allowing the motor to rotate one step at a time. The stepping is controlled by a computer and as such allows the customer to control speed and positioning.

The standard option features 8 flying leads and there is a high retention force of the mating connector thanks to the integral electrical receptacle. The end bell on the unit is designed to be rugged and a high-tech polymer is used to encapsulate the windings and is utilized on the electrical connector. As a result of the end bell design, the unit runs cooler and this thereby enhances the life of the encoder.

The P21NSXA-LSS-NS-02 is equipped for optional encoders and rear shaft extensions. There is a honed stator ID and a precision ground rotor OD for a concentric air gap. The unit features an octagonal shape that allows for a simple and easy automated assembly. Included in the makeup of the motor is Sigmax technology which allows for acceleration and torque thanks to flux concentrating samarium cobalt stator magnets. The motor features oversized bearings measuring in at 30 mm which helps to increase the bearing fatigue life by 400% which is much more than 22 mm bearings that are typical of other devices in this range.

There are quite a number of different driveshaft modifications available for this motor and it utilizes insulation that follows Class B specifications. The laminations are exposed which helps to aid the dissipation of heat.
