Product Description

The P21NRXB-LDN-NS-00 motor is a part of the Powermax II P-series motors, with a standard NEMA 23 frame size (60mm, or 2.25 inches across flats), a single rotor stack, and a standard NEMA frame mount. It features a regular construction, an integrated connection receptacle for leads, and a category ‘B’ winding type. It has a standard type of rotor, with a smooth and double-ended shaft. The motor has no feedback encoder installed, which means it was meant for an open loop operation. For applications that require a closed loop via an encoder, the rear end of the shaft could be used for mounting an encoder to close the loop. While this is not the default configuration, it is an option. Another alternative with the double ended shaft is to drive two load processes at a time, although the rotor’s moment of inertia of 1.2×10-5 kgm2 should be considered. For good performance, a load/rotor moment of inertia ratio of at most 10:1 is recommended; the smaller, the better. The P21NRXB-LDN-NS-00 has a maximum holding torque of 0.79Nm, maximum phase current, resistance and inductance of 4.6A, 1.28ohms, and 4.4mH respectively. Also, it has a detent torque of 0.028Nm, and features the standard 30mm oversized bearings, which helps it support axial and radial loads of up to 5.89kg and 9.07kg respectively.

While the P21NRXB-LDN-NS-00 stepper motor is designed for effective and powerful stepper motor operations, its customization option for extra automation via an encoder makes it a cost-effective substitute for basic servo motors in operations requiring low speed, high torque and low precision.
