The P21NRXA-LSS-NS-02 stepper motor is a hybrid-type stepper motor. It is designed under Pacific Scientific corporation, a leading manufacturer of automation systems. In conformity with other stepper motors in the Powermax II P-series category, the P21NRXA-LSS-NS-02 stepper motor offers high quality performance based on an economical motor design.

The motor specifications are indicated by various description codes in its name. It has a frame size common to standard NEMA 23 type motors, along with a standard NEMA mount (for better shaft support during axial loading). The motor is constructed according to the default/regular type Powermax II motor design, and it has one full rotor stack. It has an ‘A’ winding code, along with a standard type receptacle (with connection for up to 8 flying leads). It differs from the conventional standard design in terms of its shaft customization. According to its shaft-type designation, the shaft configuration and modification are of a ‘special’ type. As common with the P-series motors, it features no encoder feedback nor has a provision for encoder attachment. This limits its operations to an open-loop configuration, for which it is adequately optimized. As far as performance requirements, the P21NRXA-LSS-NS-02 motor has a maximum holding torque of 0.81Nm. It equally has a maximum current specification of 5.6A (DC), a maximum phase resistance of 0.92 ohms, and a maximum phase inductance of 3.2mH. To ensure a steady grip on load and positional lock, it has a detent torque of 0.028Nm. This is set at a small value to prevent limiting the maximum torque deliverable during load operations.
