Pacific Scientific is an engineering firm that has developed expertise in the design and fabrication of a top-class automation system and industrial motors.

The M22NRXD-LSF-SS-02 is a hybrid stepper motor that comes from the POWERMAX II series produced by the company. The stepper motor has been designed for high performance applications despite its compact size. Because of the smart Sigmax Technology and increased number of magnets, the motor is able to generate a 1.68 Nm torque per winding. Despite a string built, the M22NRXD-LSF-SS-02 weighs only 1.13 kg. To ensure a higher acceleration rate, the motor's magnetics have been optimized. The motor's design also ensures smooth microstepping because this model has a low detent torque. Design modifications have been made in the motor to ensure a cooling design. The motor has an octagonal housing and its lamination aids are exposed.

The M22NRXD-LSF-SS-02 is a two-phase hybrid motor and has a 1.8 ᵒ step angle. Because of a low inertia rotor, the motor’s shaft can undergo rapid acceleration/deceleration over a very short period of time. This model has a 2.5 A rated current per winding. Because of high energy neodymium-iron boron magnets, the motor can give an unhindered performance un dynamic conditions. The system’s thermal dissipation capabilities are bolstered by the use of a polymer encapsulated stator. The engineers at Pacific Scientific have re-evaluated the motor design and have decided to use 30 mm oversized bearings for this motor. This has significantly increased the motor’s fatigue life and its capacity to handle cyclic loading. The shaft size has also been increased to 6.3 mm. This model has 0.12 Nm detent torque and its inductance is 5 mH.
