OC940 SERCOS Option Cards is an add-in module for the Pacific Scientific SC900 servocontroller that provides the hardware and firmware needed to connect the controller/drive to a SERCOS network.
It supports SERCOS fiber connections (IN/OUT) and includes onboard configuration such as an S1 switch for unique node/serial addressing on the ring, along with jumper selections for items like SERCOS baud rate and optical transmit power level. The card adds a DB25 user I/O interface that provides 8 optically isolated inputs and 8 optically isolated outputs, each using a user-supplied 12–24 VDC I/O supply, with inputs designed around a defined trip threshold and hysteresis. Its outputs are open-drain sinks rated up to 250 mA per point, intended to be used with user load pull-ups within the supported voltage range. The OC940 documentation also defines installation/wiring details and the supported SERCOS IDNs, including access methods through the service channel, cyclic channel, and real-time control/status bit mapping for selected I/O and functions.
