The TBM series are brushless DC direct drive torque motors that are specifically designed for application requiring high power in a small, compact form factor. The TBM-12995-A is part of the TBM series. Common applications of this motor include weapon stations, robotic joints, sensor gimbals, UAV propulsions and guidance, sight systems as well as many others. The TBM-12995-A has an armature outer diameter of 129 inches and a stack length of 95 inches. This motor has a type ‘A’ winding. It has a cylindrical configuration and the motor construction is done with a permanent magnet. The TBM-12995-A has optional integral halls sensors for feedback and has an in-line single-ended hollow shaft.

The TBM-12995-A winding gauges and the stack lengths can be modified. The general availability capabilities for winding gauges range from #00 to #48 (includes lead wire change) while the stack lengths depend on the frame size. The base model for this motor has a minimum lead length of 400 mm (15.75 inches) whereas, it can be increased to 1200 mm (47 inches) as per customer needs. The lead colors can also be modified according to customer specifications. The thermal sensors on this motor can be embedded in the motor slot. It is highly recommended that the TBM-12995-A is housed and mounted with a 7.0” x 7.5” x 0.375” heat sink or equivalent for sufficient cooling.
