The Kollmorgen Goldline series of motors has improved performance and value in an array of industrial applications. This family of motors employs a high energy rare earth neodymium-iron-boron magnets which coupled with an exceptional thermal design, deliver excellent acceleration capabilities and a continuous torque in a compact package. The full power of the Goldline series motors is unleashed when the motors are interfaced with the Kollmorgen ServoStar amplifier. The amplifier provides a full digital control, simple installation, and system set up. To enable easy and quick high performance operation, the amplifier supports PI, pole placement, and PDFF control algorithms allowing for precise control of a wide range of industrial machines.

The M-605-C-A1-B3 is a medium inertia brushless servo motor designed by Kollmorgen. The motor belongs to the Kollmorgen M Goldline series of motors which supports options such an electromechanical failsafe brakes, front mounted gearheads, and multiple connector options. The M-605-C-A1-B3 features a built-in thermostat to help monitor the temperature inside the motor’s casing. The thermostat is advantageous since it prevents the motor from overheating by controlling the motor’s cooling devices. To help in the cooling process, the motor should be mounted and operated in an industrial environment with adequate ventilations and air flow. Note that keeping the motor within the required temperature helps the motor reach its optimal performance capabilities.

The Kollmorgen M-605-C-A1-B3 features a permanent magnet allowing it to offer a high power density and torque. The motor has a horsepower rating of 11.5 HP a rated speed of 43 revolutions per minute, and an apparent power rating of 8.6 kilo Watts. At an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, the M-605-C-A1-B3 has a continuous current rating of 31.2 N-m.
