The AKD-PDMM Programmable Drives series is a Kollmorgen family of servo drives with an integrated programmable multi-axis master, combining drive control and machine-level motion control in one unit.
The series uses TwinCAT 3 automation software with a real-time Windows environment and is designed to execute PLC, motion, HMI, vision, and robotics functions from the drive platform itself. It also includes an integrated EtherCAT master with two RJ45 ports, allowing the drive to control additional AKD servo axes and third-party EtherCAT devices within the same machine network. Within the series, the programmable-drive concept is built around Kollmorgen’s AKD servo hardware, so the platform retains the AKD drive’s role as the local servo amplifier while adding centralized control capability for the wider motion system. The AKD-PDMM series is intended for machine architectures that need servo drive functionality and coordinated multi-axis machine control from a single integrated device.
