Product Description
Bosch Rexroth is an international engineering firm that specializes in manufacturing top quality automation equipment.
The TBM 1.2-40-W1/115 is an auxiliary bleeder module that consists of a chopper and a resistor. The bleeder module is installed within the automation of the line and is used for safety purposes. This device is frequently used with the TVM power supplies produced by the company. The device helps to optimally match the power supply requirements for different applications. The device has 1 kW continuous bleeder power and 40 kW peak bleeder power. The system is highly suitable for safety applications. The additional regenerative energy in the circuit is absorbed by the bleeder module and is dissipated as heat. When the drives are used in generator mode, they produce excess regenerative energy that has to be controlled using a bleeder device. When the system bus is fully charged, the TBM 1.2-40-W1/115 is used to dissipate additional energy.
The TBM 1.2-40-W1/115 is used to prevent the bus voltage from reaching the threshold value. When the voltage starts to increase, the bleeder module’s chopper engages the resistor that bleeds excess energy as heat. This mechanism is also very useful in safety applications where it protects the users against electric shock. When the connected devices are provided electric power, the integrated capacitor charges to the peak value. Even when the power is cut off, the capacitor remains charged and can provide an electric shock upon contact. When the TBM 1.2-40-W1/115 is installed, it discharges the capacitor quickly that prevents accidents at the workplace. The system utilizes internal air for maintaining an optimum temperature during operation. An inbuilt blower fan has been provided for this purpose.
