The Bosch RZK01.1-200-BW is a heat exchanger. Specifically it is an internal heat exchanger which is required if cooling type R is selected. This device is available from Bosch as an accessory for RD 500 drives. Other accessories that can be ordered include chemistry modules, motor filters, braking resistors and radio interference filters. The RZK01.1-200-BW is a heat exchanger which has an integrated braking resistor. The resistance of the resistor is 1.6 Ohms and its nominal power rating is 2.5 kilowatts. The peak power is 370 kilowatts which is only available for 0.1 second. The thermal time constant of the braking resistor is 14.3 seconds. Before commissioning, the parameter P0036 on the attached converter should be set to “Standard”. The converter then monitors the braking resistor during normal operation.

The RZK01.1-200-BW is designed for outside cabient mounting. Heat exchangers designed for cabinet mounting can also be ordered from Bosch. Power data of frequency converter for the heat exchanger is 200 kilowatts. Load diagrams in the product manual can be used to calculate the maximum braking time and the braking time. The energy required for stopping is determined by the technological arrangement. A reduction in the braking time increases the braking power. On the other hand an increase in the braking time leads to a reduction in the braking power. When the limit values for the thermal portrayal are exceeded, the converter connected to the heat exchanger shuts down. Bosch recommends a free space of at least 200 millimeters above the heat exchanger and the connected converter, and a minimum space of 100 millimeters below the devices.
