The Bosch MTS-R02.2-M2-P1-NN-NN-FW is a SPC with slot width of 2. It is mounted in a RMB02.2 module carrier. It includes three slots which can be used for inserting optional communication modules such as ProfiBus-DP slave, ProfiBus-DB master, serial interface module with two RS-232 and two RS-422/485 interfaces and Interbus master module. Firmware for the MTS-R02.2-M2-P1-NN-NN-FW is application dependent and needs to be ordered separately to comply with application requirements. The system comes with 2 MB of RAM and a factory installed ProfiBus-DP master module. Integrated programming interface on the system supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 serial protocols and can be used to connect to a programing computer over 15 meters of cable. The programming interface can be operated as a point to point connection with RS-232 / RS-422 protocols and as a bus with the RS-485 protocol. Up to 16 controls can be networked over the RS-485 bus.

An empty expansion slot on the system can be used to install Interbus module which enables communication with remote I/O over 400 meters of network cable. The integrated general serial interface supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 protocols and can be used to connect to operator interfaces, printers and memory drives over 400 meters of serial cable. Operating devices such as BRA2A and BTM 15/16 communicate with the MTS-R02.2-M2-P1-NN-NN-FW over the BT bus. Unused MTS-R02.2-M2-P1-NN-NN-FW systems need to be kept in an environment where the ambient temperature is between -25 and 70 degrees Celsius. The storage area should be free of corrosive gases and other contaminants which could damage the system. For optimal operation as per manufacturer specifications, the ambient temperature around a working MTS-R02.2-M2-P1-NN-NN-FW should be between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius.
