The MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW is a PLC module. It belongs to the MTS-P02.2 series from Bosch Rexroth. The MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW comes in an ISA plug in card format, and is meant to be mounted inside an industrial computer from Bosch. The module communicates with the computer over the ISA communication bus. The power supply for the module is also supplied over the ISA bus. The communication with the NC control occurs over the Rexroth control bus. A ribbon cable with 50 pins is used for NC control communication. When the MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW in mounted on a Bosch BTV 20 / BTV 30 computer, the machine function keys are wired directly onto the PLC assembly. These keys wired to the 16 inputs / 16 outputs which support TTL. A PLC ready contact is also available on the MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW and is closed via a hardware watchdog.
This ready contact can be used for wiring of an emergency-stop chain of a machine. The MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW supports a multimode communication interface which supports RS 232 protocol. Through software configuration, this serial interface can be programmed for RS 422 / RS 485 communication. A BT bus interface is available on the PLC module and allows interfacing with up to 4 operator terminals belonging to the BTM 15 / 16 or BTA 20 product lines. Before the MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW can be installed inside a computer, some pre-settings must be made for startup. The module draws up to 1.8 Amps of current and supports +5 Volts / ±12 Volts DC power supply. With PC/104 modules the current drawn by the MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW can go up to 2.5 Amps.
