The Rexroth KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 is an intelligent digital drive controller. It is a microcontroller based device which performs drive control, monitoring and diagnostics. The drive can perform high resolution measurement of motor rotor positon over its entire speed range. The KDA series is designed specifically for the control of Indramat 2AD and 1MB series motors. Integrated features provided on the KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 include SERCOS speed command interface, auxiliary encoder input for second motor or spindle feedback and heatsink blower. A second auxiliary interface is not available on the KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1. The controller is air cooled. The blower requires 115 Volts AC input and forces air across the heatsink mounted to the back of the controller. The output current rating of the controller is 100 Amps. The control DC bus is rated for 300 Volts DC.

The KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 is programmed through a digital control panel located on the front of the device. The operating device parameters are stored in the AS module. The same AS module also stores the controller firmware. In case of controller malfunction, the AS module can be easily removed and installed on a replacement controller. This leads to minimum system downtime as the replacement controller does not need to be programmed from scratch. Enclosure of the KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 is IP 10 rated and should be mounted inside a control enclosure which provides protection against water and intentional tampering. Optimal performance of the KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 controller is obtained when it is installed at altitudes of up to 1000 meters and the ambient temperature is maintained between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius. Operation the KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 outside these recommended ambient conditions leads to output derating.
