The HLR01.1N-15K0-N08R1-A-007-NNNN model provides the braking resistance of 9.1 Ohm to the converter at operating DC 700V voltage. The brake resistor is mounted directly above the converter and takes a connection through the 3 AWG gauge copper wire with PVC-insulation to dissipate the continuous power of 15 kW for a minimum of 120 seconds. The brake resistor elements are flameproof and are protected from harmful environmental factors due to their IP 20 protection class but it will not provide any resistance against liquids. The model absorbed the regenerated power of 1584 kWs for 21 seconds on-time duty to dissipate the peak kinetic energy of 74 kW into thermal energy. The issued guideline should be taken into consideration while installing the device above the converter. The device goes through a rise in temperature of 65 K with a minimum distance of 1000 mm at the top and 300 mm at the bottom of the device.
