The brake resistor provides the nominal brake resistance of 17.5 Ohm with the capacity of peak power dissipation of 37 kW in the form of heat. The temperature of the brake resistor is increased by 20 K due to the continuous power dissipation of 0.3 kW. The regenerated power to be absorbed by the device is 37 kWs with a minimum allowed cycle time of 120 s.

The model HLR01.1N-0300-N17R5-A-007-NPNN is cooled by forced convection having a volumetric capacity of 200 m³/h for forced cooling. The maximum devices can be installed horizontally next to each other without any distance but the minimum distance of 80 mm is required at the top and bottom of the device. The device requires 14 AWG wire with PVC-insulation having a conductor temperature of 90 ͦC. The model comes without any additional options.
