Product Description:
The CSB01-1C-S3-ENS-EN1-NN-S-SS-FW is a single-axis drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the CSB Drive Controllers series. It performs closed-loop current, velocity, and position regulation for servo and spindle motors used in packaging, handling, and other general automation cells. By integrating motion control logic, a power stage, and internal control electronics in one housing, the unit executes motion commands from the machine control system and supervises motor feedback as well as internal diagnostics.
For controller-level networking, the unit relies on SERCOS III, a real-time Ethernet fieldbus that lets the drive exchange cyclic position and diagnostic data with the IndraDrive master in less than one millisecond. Local machine signals are handled through integrated digital I/O, eliminating external terminal strips for basic start, stop, and enable lines. A RS-232 service port is available for parameter access or backup when real-time networking is not yet established. Parameter sets can be loaded through a MultiMediaCard slot, allowing stored settings to be transferred quickly. Expansion is limited because the unit has one optional slot, so a communication or feedback option must be selected during configuration.
A standard operator panel is mounted on the front cover, providing parameter-entry keys and status LEDs without an external HMI. The drive processes position data directly from motors through its IndraDyn, Hiperface, 1 Vpp, and 5 V TTL primary encoder interface, enabling high-resolution feedback without extra boards. When retrofitting older axes, an auxiliary channel accepts feedback from MHD and MKD motors, preserving compatibility with established Rexroth servo motor families. For hard-wired status signals, an integrated relay output can switch external contactors or alarm lamps up to 250 VAC. Because the unit includes no functional safety package, external safety relays or a PLC safety processor must handle emergency stops and protective interlocks.
