CMP Control Units are PCI plug-in CNC control modules used as the central control hardware in PC-based IndraMotion MTX systems, combining CNC and PLC functionality in one controller platform.
The series includes variants for different machine sizes, ranging from systems supporting up to 8 axes (including up to 2 spindles) to systems supporting up to 64 axes (including up to 8 spindles), with multiple NC channels and interpolated axes capability depending on the controller class. Standard interfaces are designed to integrate intelligent drives over SERCOS and to connect I/O and peripherals through PROFIBUS-DP and Ethernet, with an optional high-speed I/O interface for fast signal processing. Real-time motion performance is supported by fast cycle times, with SERCOS and block cycle times specified down to the sub-millisecond range in higher-performance configurations. In operation, the module communicates with the host industrial PC over TCP/IP using a dedicated internal network connection with fixed addressing to support reliable data exchange between the PC environment and the control card.
