The CLM 01.3-X-E-2-B is a modular control unit manufactured by Rexroth Indramat to provide accurate and precise control for servo systems in industrial applications. The control unit controls the servo system usually made up of a drive controller and a MAC servo motor with an integrated encoder; the encoder provides the control unit with digital information about the motor's operation in real-time. This control unit can carry out multiple-axis positioning control simultaneously; thus, it is popular among industrialists who want to conserve electrical energy and reduce the amount of over-current protection accessories applied in the servo systems. All accessories connected to the CLM 01.3-X-E-2-B control unit must be approved by Rexroth indramat before they are connected to the control unit since the operation of substandard accessories with the control unit can lead to dangerous movement in during machine operation.

The CLM 01.3-X-E-2-B control unit features a user-friendly communication interface; it is designed with a touch-sensitive keypad and a four-line Liquid Crystal display unit which is capable of displaying alphanumeric information. The keypad of the control unit contains about 20 keys which are divided into different sections depending on the function each group of keys is designed to carry out.

The CLM 01.3-X-E-2-B control unit is designed with a sophisticated Motorollar 6000 microprocessor which dictates how the control unit responds to instructions inputted into it by the operator. The control unit's memory can hold up to 3000 programming blocks; these programming codes can be directly inputted by the user or downloaded from a host device when the control unit is in operation. The control unit contains a built-in lithium battery designed to help the control unit hold information even when the power is off.
