~ Brian Tomlin Excellent Arizona, USABosch Rexroth acquired the innovative leader, Indramat, back in the days when motion control was a relatively new concept. It was a deal that lead to two industrial giants joining forces in providing engineers around the globe with world class motion control technologies. Bosch Rexroth’s market outreach and manufacturing facilities, combined with Indramat’s creative drive, have benefitted industrialists through numerous technological novelties.
One of such technologies is the CLC Multi-Axis Coordinated Motion Control series. Designed for both coordinated as well as non-coordinated multi-axis motion control, it finds application in various industries that pursue automation at their workplace. CLC cards are capable of performing coordinate control of up to 3 axes and 4 jobs simultaneously. When independent axis control is accounted for too, one CLC card can manage up to an astonishing 40 axes at a time.
CLC-D02.2 is a variant of the CLC card which is installed into the DDS drive of the host system. The card’s CPU boasts a clock frequency of 25.0 MHz and comes with a 512 kB battery-packed SRAM. Moreover, it has an impressive maximum capacity of 1MB.
It offers engineers an easy to use interface, namely Visual Motion. This Windows based software allows technicians to program their axes control routines using a wide assortment of commands and in a convenient multi-tasking environment.
There are two serial communication ports; Port A is pre-configured for ASCII Host Protocol while Port B’s configuration is up to the user. It supports Host Protocol as well as user interfaces like Teach Pendant, which is specifically designed by Indramat for the CLC series.
Indramat is well-known for its high customer care standards and this reflects in the CLC-D02.2 as well. The seven segment single digit LED display it houses is the perfect indicator of operation status and errors. There is a different display for each kind of error, making it very easy for engineers to detect specific errors and perform troubleshooting.
Bosch Rexroth CLC-D02.2, owing to its functionality and dependability, is a must-buy motion control product if you are aiming for optimization at your workplace!
