Bosch Rexroth’s 2AD motors are induction motors with squirrel-cage rotors and fixed blower units for surface ventilation. They are highly flexible products available in various sizes, torques, and speeds to ensure application-specific use. Their applications include food-processing and packaging machines, machine tools, metal-forming machines, and printing and paper-processing machines.

The 2AD100B-B05OA2-AS03-B2N1 is an air-cooled AC motor in Bosch Rexroth’s 2AD series. Its design supports flange mounting and corresponds with the IP 65 Ingress Protection rating per DIN 40 050. This means it does not admit solid extrinsic materials or water jets sprayed at it from different directions. As a result, its operation in poor environmental conditions poses minimal risks of damage. The bearing in the 2AD model is the standard type with deep-groove ball bearings suitable for taking up low to medium radial and axial forces. It has a long service life and allows the motor to operate with minimal noise and vibration. Heat dissipation in the motor occurs via an axial blower with air currents flowing from side B to side A of the motor. These air currents are guided by shrouds over the motor’s surface.

Position feedback in the 2AD100B-B05OA2-AS03-B2N1 is via high-resolution motor feedback. It detects the motor’s relative indirect position and eliminates the need for a separate incremental encoder. The motor also has an output shaft with keyway for coupling it to the machine elements to be driven. Its keyway is according to DIN 6885-1 and permits the keyed transmission of torques with constant direction and low requirements for the shaft-hub connection. This 2AD motor generates a nominal torque of 22Nm and can reach a nominal speed of 9,000 revolutions per minute.
