The Bosch Rexroth Indramat 2AD 3-Phase Induction Motors comprises housed, squirrel-cage 3-phase induction motors with fixed blower cooling, designed to serve as rotary main-spindle motors or high-performance servo drives.
Typical applications include machine tools, printing and paper processing equipment, packaging and food-processing machines, and metal-forming machinery, where a broad speed range and field-weakening capability support versatile spindle operation. When used with compatible digital drive controllers, the motor feedback system provides rotor-position information for regulated speed and position control with very fine resolution. The series is offered across multiple frame sizes and power stages up to roughly 93 kW, with mechanical variants that include flange or flange/foot mounting, smooth or keyed output shafts, and sealing options such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals for higher ingress protection. Optional holding-brake versions are available for securing the spindle or axis at standstill, with the brake style selected based on whether the motor is used in main-spindle or servo-axis duty.
