The EL6930 is a TwinSAFE Logic Bus Terminal by Beckhoff Automation Technology. Based in Germany, this company offers industrial PCs, I/O components, automation software and Bus drives to the PLC and robotics industries worldwide. TwinSAFE by Beckhoff is a safety system that protects the entire terminal system from any danger if any part encounters malfunction. The EL6930 Logic Bus Terminal with PROFIsafe gateway is tasked with establishing connections between TwinSAFE input and output devices, and also provides a gateway to a PROFIsafe master controller.

 The EL6930 logic bus terminal with PROFIsafe gateway follows a typical EtherCAT terminal design featuring eight status and diagnostic LEDs and connecting slots for TwinSAFE enabled I/O devices. The terminal features a minimum cycle time of 500 microseconds while its fault response time is lower than the standard watchdog time. The terminal runs on 24 V DC voltage and has a current consumption of approximately 188 mA. It has a power dissipation of 1W. The EtherCAT logic bus weighs approx. 50 g and measures 12mm x 100mm x 68mm (W x H x D). The TwinSAFE logic bus terminal offers exceptional shock/vibration resistance as well as EMC immunity. Moreover, the housing offers IP20 class protection.   

 The EL6930 logic bus terminal meets international safety standards; like UL, IEC, and NRTL. Moreover, it has been approved by CE. The EL6930 logic module supports EL1904 input terminals and EL2904 output terminals. Together, these modules can enable connections of 24 V DC sensors and actuators such as pull cord switches, pushbutton switches, safety mats, laser scanners, signal lamps, protection door switches, servo drives, etc. The logic bus terminal requires an ambient temperature between 0 and 55 degree Celsius during operation, and -25 to 70 degrees Celsius during storage and transport in order to perform optimally.
