Product Description

The EL6900 is a licensed product of Beckhoff Automation Technology. The company is based in Germany and offers PC Control technology that can be implemented on a variety of applications, such as building automation and CNC-controlled devices. The EL9600 is a TwinSAFE Logic Terminal that serves as a link between TwinSAFE digital input and output terminals. The EL6900 TwinSAFE Logic Terminal is capable of establishing up to 128 TwinSAFE connections and meets UL, IEC, EN, NRTL and ISO requirements with respect to safety.

Weighing just 50 grams, the TwinSAFE Logic Terminal measures 12 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm (W x H x D). It follows typical EtherCAT terminal design. The front panel of the EtherCAT terminal features 8 LEDs for status-indication and diagnosis while there are 8 connecting slots for input devices. The EL6861 logic terminal has a minimum cycle time of 500 microseconds while its error reaction time ranges between 2ms and 60000ms. The EtherCAT terminal requires 24 VDC voltage to operate and has a current consumption of 188mA via E-bus. During operation, the power dissipation of the terminal is approximately 1W. The logic terminal meets EN standards with respect to vibration/shock resistance and EMC immunity/emission. Moreover, the terminal offers sufficient protection against dust and dirt.

The EL6900 EtherCAT terminal needs no special proof testing during the entire service life. However, all safety conditions and environmental requirements must be met in order to ensure safe and smooth operations. Although the EtherCAT dissipates low power, there must be sufficient distance between the walls of the control cabinet and the neighboring devices to ensure optimal convection cooling.
