Product Description:
The T730T-012 is a rotary actuator designed by Sanyo Denki for the T SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It converts electrical power into regulated shaft rotation for positioning tables, feeders, and automated tooling where accurate velocity and torque control are required. An internal tachogenerator supplies speed feedback to the drive, enabling closed-loop motion without external sensors. Compact dimensions allow direct coupling to gearboxes or pulley sets, supporting multi-axis assemblies in electronics, packaging, and material-handling equipment.
At its nominal operating point, the actuator draws a rated armature current of 5.2 A from a 75 V supply and converts this input into a shaft output of 300 W. The corresponding rated torque is 1.18 N·m, while short bursts can reach a peak torque of 9.8 N·m for acceleration or disturbance rejection. Electrical characteristics include an armature resistance of 1.1 Ω and an inductance of 1.6 mH, both of which affect the current rise time commanded by the drive. When the rotor is locked, the motor can sustain 1.43 N·m of continuous stall torque without exceeding its thermal limits. A mechanical time constant of 4.0 ms indicates rapid speed changes resulting from the low moving mass.
The cylindrical housing measures 76 mm across, and the rotor has an inertia of 0.270 × 10⁻³ kg·m², allowing the axis to accelerate to its rated speed of 2500 rpm with minimal overshoot. A torque constant of 0.273 N·m/A relates commanded current to developed torque, simplifying current-mode control models. Velocity feedback is provided by the built-in tachogenerator, which has a winding resistance of 26 Ω and an output constant of 7 × 10⁻³ V/rpm. This linear voltage signal allows the drive to regulate speed precisely during closed-loop positioning and velocity-controlled operation.
