Product Description:
The T720-012EL8 is a brushless servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki within the T SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It is designed as a compact actuator for positioning duties in packaging machinery, pick-and-place arms, and other motion axes that need repeatable torque at moderate speeds. A 1000 mm lead wire harness is attached to simplify the electrical connection to the servo amplifier.
Under continuous load, the motor delivers a torque of 0.658 N·m, allowing stable operation without thermal overload. At its rated output of 0.2 kW, the shaft can maintain a synchronous speed of 3000 rpm, so gear ratios can be selected for direct coupling to mid-speed mechanisms. The armature is excited from a DC bus of 80 V, matching common low-voltage servo amplifiers used in multi-axis controllers. A rear-mounted incremental encoder provides 1000 P/R feedback, supplying drives with sufficient resolution for precise positioning. The encoder uses an incremental format, and the motor does not have an integrated tachometer generator. The unit is supplied without an oil seal, so it should be installed away from fluid splash zones. The keyed output shaft simplifies rigid coupling alignment, while the rotor inertia of 1.478 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m² supports predictable acceleration profiles.
For transient moves, the motor withstands a peak stall torque of 1.47 N·m, accommodating step changes in load without losing synchronism. The square housing terminates in a 76 mm mounting flange, allowing the frame to be bolted directly to compatible gearheads or brackets. The enclosure has an IP43 protection rating, which restricts the entry of solid objects larger than 1 mm and resists water spray at angles up to 60 degrees from vertical. The motor has an overall mass of 2.05 kg, limiting the weight added to moving gantries while providing enough thermal mass for continuous operation. Mounting orientation and acceleration limits should account for the motor’s mass, rotor inertia, peak torque, and lack of an oil seal.
