Sanyo Denki designed 103H8223-6540 is a member of StepSyn Stepping Motors series. Its recommended use is in conjunction with the PLUS drive series so that the motor is integrated into a system suited for its performance. The basic step angle of 1.8° ± 0.09° permits minimal movement increments which makes it possible to finely position the motor in high-precision applications. Alongside the IP43 protection degree which allows for some dust and water ingress, the motor can operate reliably in standard industrial settings.
During bipolar operation, the unit draws a current of 0.2 A, which is the optimum value that ensures power losses are kept to a minimum. But it still allows sufficient magnetization for the motor to function properly. For unipolar operation, a current of 1.4 A is provided to the motor to improve the startup torque. A coil resistance of 790 serves to fix the current flowing through the winding and a coil inductance of 4350 offers to fix the current's rate of change for precise step control to be implemented. A bipolar holding torque of 18200 describes the strong force that aids in holding the rotor in position, while an unipolar holding torque of 88 provides a different performance mode with a different driving scheme.
