The unit converts discrete pulse commands from a microstepping drive into accurate angular motion, making it suitable for positioning slides, indexing tables, and pick-and-place axes in automated equipment. By combining a permanent-magnet rotor with a laminated stator, the motor delivers incremental rotation without requiring an encoder. Machine controllers can hold or advance load shafts in exact increments according to commands from the drive.
Each full step advances the shaft by 1.8°, providing 200 discrete positions per revolution for straightforward pulse-per-step programming. The detent and electromagnetic design supplies 1.17 N·m of holding torque, so the motor resists back-driving when the control signal is static. The coil windings draw 2 A per phase, allowing microstepping drives with conventional 24–48 V DC buses to use the full torque curve without saturation.
