In positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and small indexing devices, it converts pulse trains from a driver into precise rotor increments, delivering open-loop motion control without feedback. By turning electrical pulses into controlled angular steps, the unit provides repeatable shaft positioning for light industrial automation.
The square mounting face measures 56 × 56 mm, matching common NEMA 23 brackets, while the front pilot measures 38.1 mm in diameter to center the motor in gearheads or couplings. Its body length is 53.8 mm, so enclosure designers can account for its depth inside compact machines. Each control pulse moves the shaft by 1.8°, giving 200 full-step positions per revolution and enabling finer motion through microstepping drives.
