Product Description:
103-715-02E1 is a Step-Syn series DC stepper motor. Stepper motors are brushless DC electric motors that move in discrete steps. Each electrical pulse sent to the motor causes the shaft to move by a fixed angle — typically 1.8 or 0.9 degree per step. They are precise, position-controlled, and don't require feedback systems for many applications. Internally, these motors have multiple coils organized in phases. Energizing these phases in sequence causes the rotor to "step" to the next position. To control the motor speed, direction, and position precisely, a stepping drive supplies control pulses with precise timing. The motor is produced by Sanyo Denki. Its basic step size is 1.8 degrees per step. Voltage class of the 103-715-02E1 motor is 1.7 Volts and its current rating is 4.7 Amps. An optical shaft encoder is installed on the moor unit.
This is an incremental encoder and its part number is E560060BDK. The 103-715-02E1 is a flange mounted motor. It relies on movement of ambient air for cooling. Unobstructed movement of air around the motor is a necessary prerequisite for cooling. Failure to provide smooth airflow will cause the internal motor temperature to reach dangerous levels that can affect motor performance, and ultimately, cause it to malfunction. Typical ambient temperature for stepping motor operation is from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius and the storage temperature is from -20 to 65 degrees Celsius. The specified ambient humidity is from 20 to 90% (without condensation). With regard to elevation, the specified limit is 1000 meters above mean sea level. The stepper motor is a piece of precision industrial equipment and must be handled by qualified and trained personnel.
