Product Description:
The Q2AA18350HCD2E is an AC servo motor built by Sanyo Denki for the Q SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It provides closed-loop torque and position control for indexing tables, packaging axes, and similar motion tasks in automated equipment. By combining a brushless architecture with integrated feedback, the unit allows drive amplifiers to synchronize motion profiles that demand repeatable accuracy in midrange power applications. Electronic commutation also eliminates the brush wear associated with conventional brushed motors, making the unit suitable for repetitive operating cycles.
The mechanical interface uses a 180 mm flange, giving the frame sufficient surface area for rigid mounting to medium-sized gearboxes or direct-drive machinery. Internally, a medium-inertia rotor balances load matching against quick acceleration; this inertia class helps filter sudden load variations and keeps servo loops stable. The stator delivers a 3.5 kW rated output and draws energy from a 200 V supply that aligns with common three-phase bus voltages used in control cabinets. When commanded through the drive, the unit sustains shaft speeds from 3000 to 3500 rpm, allowing the operating point to balance torque and throughput without exceeding the motor’s mechanical limits. Heat produced at these operating levels passes through the aluminum housing by natural convection, avoiding the need for an external blower. Adequate clearance around the housing allows air to circulate and carry heat away from the motor surface.
For holding functions, a 24 V brake clamps the shaft whenever power is removed, preventing back-driving on vertical or suspended loads. The permitted ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 40 °C, allowing the motor to operate in typical enclosed automation systems when adequate ventilation is provided. The maximum relative humidity is 90%, so condensation must be prevented around the housing, connectors, and feedback components. Position data come from the PA035M sensor head, which integrates an absolute encoder with an incremental function. This feedback arrangement supplies both multi-turn absolute position data and high-resolution incremental pulses over a single cable. The drive can use the absolute data to retain axis position information and the incremental signal to regulate motion during active cycles.
