Regenerative hardware directs excess mechanical energy to the internal braking circuit, allowing automated machinery to decelerate without requiring an external braking resistor. This arrangement supports controlled stopping in positioning systems, production equipment, and other machinery with frequently changing motion profiles.
A built-in regenerative resistor with a resistance of 17 Ω absorbs surplus power during rapid stops. The control circuit tolerates an inrush current of 40 A, while the main power stage experiences a first-cycle surge of 18 A; these values assist with fuse, breaker, and busbar selection. An IGBT PWM sinusoidal drive topology maintains frequency characteristics up to 600 Hz, enabling tight modulation across the amplifier’s speed, torque, and position control modes. Overrun energy is shunted by a dynamic brake rated for 1800 J, and leakage current is limited to 1.5 mA to reduce grounding risk. Closed-loop regulation spans 1:5000, supporting high resolution at low speeds and stable operation throughout the available control range. The amplifier weighs 1.3 kg, making it suitable for cabinet installations where panel loading and available mounting space are important.
