The QS1A05AA04G01S00 servo amplifier is manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the Q SANMOTION Servo Amplifiers series. It accepts single-phase AC control power and uses an IGBT pulse-width modulation system to generate three-phase sinusoidal motor currents with minimal harmonic distortion. Integrated dynamic braking and regenerative circuitry allow the module to absorb excess kinetic energy during deceleration. This design supports positioning axes, pick-and-place arms, and other automated equipment that requires fast response and controlled stopping.
The amplifier can deliver up to 50 A of output current to the motor windings. Its built-in resistor bank can dissipate up to 1800 J of braking energy, helping prevent DC-bus overvoltage when heavy loads stop abruptly. A closed-loop bandwidth of 600 Hz supports high-gain velocity and torque control without instability. The internal regenerative path has a resistance of 17 Ω, providing predictable thermal loading during frequent braking cycles. Command inputs accept up to 5 million pulses per second, while the separate quadrature-pulse channel accepts up to 1.25 million pulses per second. These input rates allow the amplifier to process high-resolution position commands without losing pulses. A side-mounted fan directs cooling air along the heat sink fins, and leakage current to the protective ground is limited to 1.5 mA.
A speed control range of 1:5000 allows the drive to maintain stable rotation from very low speeds through rated speed. A differential speed-monitor output of ±2.0 V/1000 rpm tracks actual shaft velocity for external diagnostic equipment. The torque-monitor terminal provides ±2.0 V at rated torque, allowing a connected controller to observe real-time load changes. The amplifier has a mass of 2.2 kg, permitting cabinet installation without substantial structural reinforcement. Its built-in dynamic-brake relay activates automatically when the bus voltage exceeds the programmed threshold. This automatic response helps bring the connected motor to a controlled stop while the regenerative circuit manages energy returned from the load.
