The QS1A03AA servo amplifier is produced by Sanyo Denki within the Q SANMOTION Servo Amplifiers series. It converts line power into a regulated three-phase output for permanent-magnet servomotors, enabling coordinated motion in automated assembly lines. Integrated feedback interfaces allow the amplifier to process position data and deliver precise drive signals for robots, pick-and-place heads, and indexing tables.
The control stage draws only 30 VA of auxiliary power and uses an IGBT PWM sinusoidal drive topology to modulate motor current accurately. The amplifier supports speed, torque, and position control modes, and its closed-loop bandwidth reaches 600 Hz when the load inertia matches the reference value. Within the speed regulator, the ratio of the lowest to highest stable speed is 1:5000, allowing slow creep movements and rapid indexing from the same axis. The input section accepts mains supplies with a frequency variation of ±3 Hz, and protective circuitry limits ground leakage current to 0.5 mA. A built-in dynamic brake engages 10 ms after a stop request, while the internal regeneration circuit manages excess energy during deceleration. Continuous operation is permitted at an ambient relative humidity of up to 90%, providing flexibility for installation in many industrial control panels. The mounting surface can withstand vibration levels of 0.5 G during operation.
The heat sink and control electronics are rated for operation in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C. During emergency stops, the internal brake resistor can absorb 360 J per deceleration, reducing the need for an external braking resistor when the calculated regenerative load remains within this capacity. The housing weighs 1.6 kg, allowing several amplifiers to be mounted in a compact panel without adding excessive structural load. The unit can withstand mechanical shocks up to 5 G, helping it remain secure during equipment movement or sudden machine impacts. The built-in regeneration function directs deceleration energy to the internal braking circuit, where the resistor dissipates it as heat.
