It supplies rotary servomotors with regulated three-phase power, allowing automation controllers to manage speed, torque, or position on conveyors, pick-and-place arms, and indexing tables. Integrated IGBT switching and internal braking elements place power conversion and energy dissipation in a compact panel module. This arrangement supports closed-loop motion while limiting the amount of separate equipment required inside the control cabinet.
Rated for an output capacity of 30 A, the amplifier can deliver continuous phase current to servomotors without saturation. During power-up, the control circuitry tolerates an inrush current of 40 A. The internal IGBT pulse-width modulation system produces a sinusoidal output with low distortion, helping the closed-loop bandwidth reach 600 Hz. Position loops accept differential line-driver pulses at rates up to 5 Mpps, enabling the use of high-resolution encoders without missed counts. For analog velocity regulation, the speed loop maintains a control ratio of 1:5000, allowing commanded shaft speed to be adjusted from full rated speed down to 0.02% with stable accuracy. Dedicated terminals receive ±2.0 V speed and torque commands, and the three-mode architecture allows a controller to switch among speed, torque, and position control.
The power section experiences a momentary surge of 18 A when the main circuit is energized, and this value can be used to size upstream fuses. Leakage current to ground is limited to 0.5 mA, allowing nearby logic devices to operate within the same cabinet. A resistor network sets the speed command impedance at 10 kΩ, preventing the ±2.0 V analog reference signal from being excessively loaded. Built-in dynamic braking dissipates kinetic energy during rapid stops, while an internal regeneration circuit manages excess bus power without requiring an external resistor. The amplifier is designed for rotary servomotors, allowing indexing tables and belt drives to stop quickly without excessive overshoot. The unit weighs 1.6 kg, reducing panel load while leaving adequate room in the housing for the IGBT heat sink.
