Product Description:
The PBM604FXE20 is a brushless servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki within the PB SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It is designed for closed-loop positioning in pick-and-place modules, indexing tables, and other automated machinery. The motor converts electrical commands from a drive into controlled shaft torque and speed, allowing accurate motion sequences in industrial production cells. Its compact profile also suits tooling heads and machine assemblies where available installation space is limited.
The square flange measures 60 mm across, and the housing has a length of 102.3 mm, allowing side-by-side installation in compact equipment. With a mass of only 1.42 kg and a rotor inertia of 0.84 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², the motor can achieve rapid start-stop cycles while keeping reflected loads moderate. Position feedback is supplied by a three-channel incremental encoder that delivers 2000 pulses per revolution. The encoder uses a regulated 5 VDC ± 5% supply from the drive. The encoder electronics and Hall sensors draw no more than 140 mA, helping low-power controllers remain within their available current limits. Insulation resistance is rated at a minimum of 100 MΩ, limiting leakage current through the motor’s electrical insulation.
The drive can issue command pulses at up to 37.5 kHz, and the motor’s rotor tracks these updates without losing synchronization. Continuous side loading must remain within the allowable radial force of 167 N. Axial loading must stay below 14.7 N to preserve the 0.025 mm shaft runout and the same tolerance for radial play. When stalled, the unit can deliver a holding torque of 1.9 N·m, which supports light clamping and indexing axes. The winding temperature rise remains within the Class B thermal limit during permitted operation. The frame has an IP40 ingress protection rating, which protects internal components against solid objects larger than 1 mm but does not provide protection against water. The motor is therefore intended for clean, dry industrial stations where its enclosure will not be exposed to liquids.
