Product Description:
The PB4A002R301 servo driver is manufactured by Sanyo Denki as part of the PB SANMOTION Servo Drivers series. Designed for installation inside motion-control panels, the unit conditions power and command signals for a brushless motor used in automated equipment. By combining current amplification with fieldbus communication, it allows PLCs to vary position, speed, and torque without mechanical changeovers, supporting compact assembly stations, pick-and-place heads, and indexing tables that require electronic coordination.
The controller handles one controllable axis and communicates over RS-485 with parallel I/O, allowing parameter downloads while providing eight general inputs and seven general outputs. Drive output capacity is split between a single-phase supply that can deliver 4.5 A and a three-phase supply rated at 2.5 A, allowing the module to accommodate different plant power systems. An auxiliary transistor stage provides alarm or ready signals at a maximum of 30 VDC and 15 mA through an open-collector circuit. Two 7-segment LEDs on the front panel display codes for the operating mode, error class, or diagnostic data without requiring external tools. A vibration tolerance of 0.5 G helps protect the internal boards from resonance during machine motion.
The aluminum housing measures 120 mm deep, 150 mm high, and 42 mm wide, allowing it to fit in narrow control cabinets with rear mounting brackets that attach to a DIN rail. The compact assembly weighs 0.65 kg, reducing the load placed on the mounting hardware. Operation remains stable at ambient humidity levels up to 90% RH without condensation, while the open-collector outputs help prevent ground loops in connected external loads. The logic inputs share a terminal strip that simplifies harness routing and keeps the control wiring organized inside the panel.
