Product Description:
The PB3A003R200 is a servo driver produced by Sanyo Denki as part of the PB SANMOTION Servo Drivers series. Designed for installation inside motion-control panels, the unit converts command data from a host controller into precise phase currents for a matched SANMOTION motor set. By executing closed-loop velocity and torque regulation, it allows automated machines to position axes, index feeders, or vary conveyor speeds without mechanical transmission changes. The driver communicates over industrial serial links, making it suitable for multi-axis arrangements in packaging, electronics assembly, and general factory equipment.
Its control strategy uses the PAM and PWM control sine drive mode, a hybrid modulation method that shapes motor phase voltages through amplitude and width adjustments to reduce ripple and support efficient regeneration. Communication uses an RS-485 full-duplex interface with parallel I/O, allowing simultaneous bidirectional data exchange and hardwired start or alarm signals. During acceleration, the driver can deliver up to 4.5 Arms. Velocity feedback permits shaft speeds of up to 4500 rpm. Excess kinetic energy is dissipated through a built-in regenerative circuit, eliminating the need for an external braking resistor. Speed references are accepted in increments of 1 rpm, allowing commands to be adjusted with fine resolution.
The tray-style housing measures 120 mm deep and 45 mm wide, with a height of 150 mm that supports dense vertical stacking inside compact enclosures. Internal components can withstand ambient vibration of up to 0.5 G, and reliable operation is maintained in noncondensing atmospheres with relative humidity of up to 90%. Front-mounted LEDs indicate power and alarm states, allowing operating conditions and faults to be identified directly at the unit. The tray housing helps protect internal components from mechanical shocks encountered in industrial installations. Discrete enable and limit signals can be connected to the parallel I/O block associated with the speed command unit.
