Product Description:
The P30B06040DXV20 is a servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki within the P3 Super BL Servo Motors series. It uses brushless motor technology coupled with an ABS-R II absolute sensor, allowing motion controllers to track the exact rotor position. A supercapacitor built into the encoder assembly preserves the position during power interruptions, eliminating the need for external batteries. Designed for compact industrial axes, the unit’s 60 mm frame provides the closed-loop speed and torque control required in pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, and small packaging stations.
The motor delivers a continuous mechanical output of 400 W, enabling midrange positioning axes to move tooling or conveyors without requiring an oversized drive. At its rated shaft speed of 3000 rpm, this power supports moderate linear speeds when the motor is coupled through gearboxes or belts. To sustain that duty, the windings draw a nominal phase current of 2.7 Arms while producing a rated torque of 1.274 N·m. When faster indexing is necessary, the rotor can accelerate to a maximum speed of 4500 rpm. An electrical time constant of 4.6 ms, combined with a mechanical time constant of 0.38 ms, supports rapid current and speed response. The phase resistance of 1.4 Ω limits heat generation, while the power rate of 64.0 kW/s indicates how quickly the motor transfers energy during acceleration.
For static or low-speed loads, the magnetic circuit sustains a continuous stall torque of 1.372 N·m with a corresponding stall current of 2.8 Arms. This capability allows a closed-loop drive to keep a vertical axis stable while the motor remains energized. Short bursts permit a peak torque of 3.82 N·m and a peak phase current of 8.6 Arms, supplying additional force for rapid starts or disturbance rejection. A torque constant of 0.533 N·m/Arms links commanded current to output torque, simplifying current-mode control. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, reducing mass in systems that already use an external locking mechanism. When power is removed, static load retention must therefore be provided by external equipment.
