The P30B040100DXSICM is a small-frame servo motor built by Sanyo Denki for its P3 Super BL Servo Motors series. This brushless unit supplies closed-loop rotary motion for positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and other automation axes where compact size matters. Its 40/42 mm flange allows direct mounting to light gearheads or brackets without a large adapter plate. The IP40 housing provides basic protection against solid debris in clean indoor installations while allowing the compact enclosure to release heat during operation.
During continuous operation, the motor delivers 100 W of mechanical power at a rated speed of 3000 rpm. It produces a rated shaft torque of 0.32 N·m when the drive supplies 1.1 Arms from a 200 VAC source. A phase resistance of 4.3 Ω limits current flow through the windings and contributes to the motor’s electrical operating characteristics. Brushless BL technology eliminates mechanical commutator wear, reducing the number of contact components inside the motor. An incremental encoder with simplified wiring sends real-time rotor position data to the servo amplifier, allowing the control loop to correct position and speed as the applied load changes.
For transient conditions, the motor can sustain a continuous stall torque of 0.353 N·m and briefly reach a peak stall torque of 0.98 N·m before thermal limits intervene. Dynamic response is supported by a torque constant of 0.292 N·m/Arms, an electrical time constant of 1.4 ms, and a mechanical time constant of 0.7 ms, allowing current to rise quickly while the rotor accelerates. The encoder provides a resolution of 2000 pulses per revolution, supporting fine position measurements throughout each shaft rotation. The motor can operate up to a maximum speed of 4500 rpm, providing additional speed capacity for short indexing moves above the rated operating point. Accurate feedback allows the connected drive to regulate these rapid movements while maintaining controlled acceleration and deceleration.
