Within a complete system, it works with a matched servo amplifier and encoder scale to translate digital commands into controlled force along the machine axis. The direct-drive arrangement eliminates mechanical transmission components that could introduce backlash, compliance, or additional friction during rapid positioning movements.
A servo amplifier rated for 75 A is required to deliver the peak phase current to the coil windings. When connected to the appropriate amplifier, the mover can reach a maximum travel velocity of 3.0 m/s, providing rapid indexing across long strokes. Continuous operation is supported at a rated velocity of 1.9 m/s, where copper losses are transferred through the mounting plate. Maximum instantaneous thrust reaches 2200 N for short acceleration periods, while steady-state operations such as contour cutting are supported by a rated thrust of 800 N. Load mass, acceleration, stroke length, and duty cycle must remain within these operating limits to prevent excessive thermal loading.
