Product Description:

The KB511TXX is a DC brush servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki within the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it converts electrical energy into controlled mechanical torque and speed for positioning stages, pick-and-place heads, and light conveyor sections in industrial automation. The motor works with a tachogenerator for velocity feedback, allowing the drive amplifier to maintain accurate speed control. Its low rotor inertia also supports quick responses during repetitive movements that require frequent acceleration and deceleration.

The motor has a nominal shaft power of 80 W when the armature is supplied with 24 VDC and draws 5.0 A of current. Under these operating conditions, it reaches a maximum shaft speed of 3000 rpm. Its back electromotive force constant is 6.3 × 10⁻³ V per rpm, which relates generated voltage to rotational speed. Copper losses are limited by an armature resistance of 0.44 Ω, while an armature inductance of 0.3 mH influences current ripple as the drive switches. The resulting electrical time constant is 0.61 ms, allowing armature current to respond rapidly when the drive command changes. This response supports precise regulation during short positioning cycles and other motion sequences with rapidly changing loads.

The motor provides a rated torque of 0.26 N·m and can sustain a stall torque of 0.32 N·m under nominal cooling conditions. Torque changes in proportion to current according to a torque constant of 0.06 N·m/A, allowing the drive to regulate output according to load demand. The rotor inertia is 0.37 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², and the mechanical time constant is 4.5 ms, helping speed transients settle quickly with limited overshoot. The integrated tachogenerator tracks velocity with 1% linearity and supplies feedback to the motion controller. With a mass of 1.21 kg, the motor is suitable for lightweight axes where moving mass must remain low while continuous torque remains available.
