Product Description:
The KB511JS0 is a compact DC servo motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. The model converts low-voltage DC power into precise rotary motion for light-duty positioning tables, labelers, and other automated axes that demand tight speed and torque control. An internal incremental encoder transmits 2,000 pulses per revolution to the drive, allowing closed-loop feedback without external transducers. With a 54 mm square mounting flange, the unit fits small machinery frames and delivers controlled motion in applications where space and mass must be minimized.
Under continuous operation, the motor produces 0.08 kW of mechanical power while drawing 5.0 A from a 24 V supply. This electrical input spins the rotor at 3000 rpm, producing a steady shaft torque of 0.26 N·m for conveyors or pick-and-place heads that operate within the duty-cycle limits. With the shaft stationary, the motor can withstand a continuous stall torque of 0.32 N·m without exceeding its permissible temperature rise. A torque constant of 0.06 N·m/A links commanded current to output torque, giving the controller a predictable linear gain for accurate motion control.
Transient demands are handled by a peak stall torque of 2.16 N·m, which allows quick acceleration of loads relative to the rotor inertia of 0.37 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m². The armature has an inductance of 0.3 mH and a resistance of 0.44 Ω; these low values allow the current loop to achieve high bandwidth so the drive can apply rapid torque corrections. The motor has an overall mass of 1.62 kg, which supports installation on compact moving assemblies without adding excessive weight. Its splash-resistant IP43 housing protects internal components against solid objects larger than 1 mm and water sprayed at angles of up to 60 degrees from vertical.
