Product Description:
The KB511BXX is a DC brushless servo motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. Designed as a compact drive element for positioning axes and light-duty actuators, the model converts low-voltage bus power into precisely regulated shaft motion, making it suitable for semiconductor handlers, pick-and-place heads, or small conveyors in industrial automation. With its integrated encoder interface and electromagnetic design optimized for rapid acceleration, the motor provides a repeatable torque source while remaining compatible with the low-power channels common to distributed drive architectures.
At the electrical interface, the windings are rated for a nominal supply of 24 V, and the rated armature current is 5.0 A, allowing continuous operation without thermal derating. When the shaft is locked, the armature draws 5.2 A; this stall current sets the threshold that the drive’s current limit must match to avoid nuisance trips during startup. For short transients, the controller may deliver up to 40 A, providing access to a peak stall torque of 2.16 N·m for indexing moves. Under steady load, the motor produces a 0.32 N·m continuous stall torque. The rated output of 0.08 kW can be achieved at a commanded speed of 3000 rpm, supporting the required feed rates while keeping the thermal envelope small.
The 54 mm motor flange aligns with compact gearheads, and the rotor inertia of 0.37 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m² supports responsive servo operation. Dynamic braking energy can be dissipated through a 1600 Ω resistor integrated into the drive, while a holding mechanism sustains 0.29 N·m when the axis must remain stationary. During continuous rotation, the shaft delivers a 0.26 N·m rated torque. An IP43 housing protects the motor against dust and light spray. Despite the integrated feedback device and brake, the motor has a mass of only 1.21 kg, allowing direct mounting on moving machine components without imposing a substantial payload burden.
