Product Description:
The KB406TXX servo motor is produced by Sanyo Denki within the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. Designed for compact gantry stages and light material-handling mechanisms, it converts electrical energy into controlled mechanical rotation. Integration with a servo amplifier provides closed-loop control, allowing an automation controller to command accurate velocity, position, and torque in assembly lines, laboratory instruments, and semiconductor tools. Its square 42 mm frame reduces installation space while providing suitable torque for miniature actuators.
The KB406TXX operates from a rated armature supply of 24 V and produces continuous mechanical power of 0.06 kW at a rated speed of 3000 rpm. At standstill, the rotor delivers a continuous stall torque of 0.20 N·m, which indicates how much torque the motor can maintain without overheating. The IP43 enclosure protects internal components against solid objects larger than 1 mm and water sprayed at angles of up to 60 degrees from vertical. Lead wires exit directly from the housing, simplifying connections in compact equipment. The motor does not have an oil seal, making it appropriate for installations with low exposure to oil and other liquids. A keyed output shaft transmits torque directly to couplings, while the square mounting flange aligns with compatible servomotor brackets. A built-in tachometer generator supplies analog speed feedback to the drive, so a separate external encoder is not required for velocity measurement.
The motor provides a peak stall torque of 1.2 N·m, supporting brief acceleration periods under increased mechanical load. The rotor inertia is 0.108 ×10⁻⁴ kg·m², while the tachometer rotor adds 0.011 ×10⁻⁴ kg·m² to the rotating assembly. Total motor mass is 0.59 kg, which reduces the additional load placed on moving carriages and vertical axes. The factory-installed lead wires measure 1000 mm, providing enough length for routing through small enclosures without requiring an immediate extension near the motor housing.
