The KA850BXX is a brushless AC servo motor developed by Sanyo Denki within the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. Engineered as a compact drive element, it converts commanded current from a servo amplifier into precise shaft torque and velocity for automated axes, pick-and-place heads, or indexing tables in industrial machinery. The motor operates from an 80 V DC bus provided by the matching SANMOTION amplifier, and its frame dimensions align with standard low-voltage, multi-axis platforms used on gantries, test handlers, and inspection stations.
Armature inductance of 0.86 mH sets the electrical time constant of the stator windings, allowing current to build quickly for responsive torque commands. The optional brake coil has a resistance of 820 Ω, supporting controlled brake operation without overheating when the shaft must remain locked. Under continuous stall conditions, the motor can produce 2.16 N·m, and it maintains a static holding torque of 1.96 N·m when energized but not rotating.
